Mission Statement
“Take a Walk In My Shoes” harnesses the power of rock music and role modeling to inspire and educate young men and women, build self-esteem to help eliminate the root causes and consequences of bullying and to promote the values of social justice, gender equality, strong personal identity, and self-worth.
Project Description
Berklee College of Music graduate, Hadar Orshalimy is combining her talent and status as a national touring musician with her passion and experience as an informal educator to engage, excite, and educate youth through a variety of innovative and interactive multimedia games, exercises, and discussions. “Take a Walk In My Shoes” provides effective, relevant, and resonant role modeling by placing participants both in an intimate workshop setting as well as on stage with up-and-coming nationwide touring pop/rock star, Hadar. The project provides a life-changing experience for participants who walk away inspired with a stronger sense of self-worth, a greater awareness of how these issues affect their personal lives, and motivated to take action in their own communities.
